there was no water in that right, I'M GOING TO TRY IT (also I have the EXACT bottle of air).

Fucking damn it I just unscrewed the bottle cap and it fucking made the ludest noise ever and then hit the wall at 4 IN THE MORNING.

Update: 9/28/08--Added expert difficulties for some songs and a hard difficulty
           9/30/08--Changed reasoning for song pack and added a few songs to Not Started
           10/5/08--Finished AA and have keyboard steps in the second parentheses
           10/14/08--Finished Do It Like We Do and working on a few new ones

Actually, uh, the liquid was the coolant. :/  The only water that was frozen was some around the sides of the bottle.

Besides, the video doesn't even refer to frozen water at all.  More like the ridiculous amount of pressure that builds up in the bottle.

Yeah, the frozen liquid is understandable (I had about half of an ice cube in my bottle for 20 secounds) but the immense amount of pressure, not so much. I can't remember, buy doesn't cool air contract?

Air becomes more dense when it cools down, so if you cool the air down, and then quickly put the cap on, it creates a vacuum, and when you open the cap, the pop is air rushing back into it... I think.

I don't actually know if that's what happens, but knowing that colder air is denser makes me think it's something like that.

but the edges of the bottle don't cave in, they round out like pressure is building within it.

I dunno, it could be that the water expanding into ice creates positive pressure inside the bottle, by expanding much more than the cold air compresses.

I think it's actually the coolant boiling.  It creates quite a bit of pressure inside of the bottle.  The sound is due to a sudden release of pressure.  That's why you get that soft hiss followed by the loud POP, and that's why Mort's bottle cap flew off.  The only reason that the cap stayed on in the video is because I held on pretty tight and didn't leave it sit long enough for enough pressure to build up.

It's definitely safer to let the cap fly (AWAY from people) than to try and hold it.  I wound up getting some of the liquid coolant on my hand in another test (post-video; it sprayed from the bottle a bit when the cap popped off) and the feeling is roughly equivalent to the feeling of shoveling snow without gloves for ten minutes.  Gloves would probably be the best idea, but holding the bottle facing away from you and carefully unscrewing the cap with your thumb should be pretty safe.

More than plausible, I think.  I just did a quick glance and pulled up one of the primary ingredients in canned "air" -- difluoroethane: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1,1-Difluoroethane.  Long story short, the boiling point of that particular chemical is -25C with a vapor pressure of a little over 80psi at around room temperature (21C).

The main reason that I don't think that it's a vacuum is simply that the cap remains easy to unscrew (and that it basically blows off) and that the bottom of the bottle starts to bulge.  If it were a vacuum it would be harder to remove the cap and the flimsy plastic would be pulled inward.
