My grandma passed away at 1 this morning. Me and my sister got to the hospital at around 2, and we stayed there with our family for about an hour and a half mourning and such. It was really, really sad, but at the same time we're glad that she finally doesn't have to suffer anymore (the past two weeks she's been in the hospital have been hell for her). We were all really close to her- she meant the world to her family, and vice versa. She lived a good, long life- she was 83- but we'll all inevitably miss her.
I ended up getting home at 4 in kind of a daze and then waking up at like 8 and going to school. I didn't really tell many people, just close friends. Oh, and funny story, when I went to the student services office at school (where you get a pass to class after coming to school late and such) I told the lady there that my grandmother had passed away, and she told me it wasn't an acceptable reason for an excused tardy. So on top of things happening, I walk into American History and get marked tardy, which counts against me. Hooray.
