Good to hear that other people are shunning the idea of following religion... As far as I'm concerned, every person is different, and we all need to find our own way through life. e can use religion to help us form our ideas, but ultimately, those ideas are our own, and we have a responsibility to decide for ourselves what our morals and such are... Following blindly allows us to be sucked into whatever pitfalls that religion has, as opposed to looking at everything ourselves, identifying those pitfalls, and avoiding them. Example, how the catholic church and some zealous followers are so against homosexuality... You'd think that when Jesus bids us to both "Love your neighbor as you love yourself" and "Judge not, lest ye be judged yourself" they would simply accept homosexuals and let God sort things out like Jesus told us to, not go on some stupid rampage citing Old Testament laws we haven't observed for years as their reason to condemn fellow humans... A smart and religiously conscious person would realize that even if they personally believe that homosexuals are an abomination, they should not treat them any differently because of Jesus' teachings...
Why do I always go into rants like this?
Also, since I don't have a belief, I do think that it is likely we simply cease to exist, though if there is something after death, cool.
