How are those? I only watch Death note and blood+ (yeah, adult swim is the wrong place to find good anime).
Well, the art in utena is enough to make some people not want to watch it (it IS 10 years old, and many of the people who worked on sailor moon also worked on it), but plot wise it's really good. I absolutely love the Shakugan no Shana series, because it has the perfect combination of shounen action and all that (and a badass back story too) but it does have some shoujo elements (love triangle and all that). The art is absolutely fantastic. Honestly, I stay away from anything that would be considered somewhat bad in most cases, lol. I'll admit that I occasionally watch stuff that some people wouldn't like (piano and other more shoujo based stuff), but most of what I watch is usually in the realm between strictly shounen or shoujo. (I don't watch bleach or naruto or any of those types of anime. They don't deserve to be as long winded as they are, they're full of filler, they are way too shounen overall, and their plot usually isn't all that great anyway.)
(Yeah, I've got a lot of hate for stuff like inuyasha, bleach, naruto, one piece, and all those insanely long run anime.)
