Also, I'm having a tragic problem. HL2: Episode 2 and Portal both aren't working. I run them and it says that it won't run without a minimum requirement of DirectX 8.0. I go and download DirectX 9.0c (the latest non-Vista version) and they still don't work. How could this happen to me? D:

Please to be explaining. How do I fixed computer?

I try to run Warhammer Epic 40K: Final Liberation. ISO is mounted in DaemonTools. Right after the SSI logo, the ominous "duh" sounds, and I get that. After I click OK, it closes the program, kinda. It's still there in my process list. I can end it normally from there.

So today in band practice, we were playing a piece we got yesterday. The first 3 chairs in the clarinet section are Joey, me, and Shannon, our section leader. Joey was on the first clarinet part, I was on second, and Shannon was on third. Our director had her try and play a certain part over and over again, then he just said, "Ok, we need to get a reader on that part." I volunteered. I sightread the part better than she could play it.

She really hates me now.

...I think my computer somehow burned a 2.7 GB .iso onto a 700 MB CD-R just now, but I'll need to check for sure.

EDIT: Yeah, about 70% of the files in there are corrupted. I just used a program that couldn't tell the difference between a CD-R and a DVD-R.

I heard it on the CBC radio news around 5. It's sad that it happened, but I agree that it's worse nobody did anything about it. I mean honestly, something like that should get forwarded to the authorities immediately and the issue dealt with.

I had a bottle of water and a bottle of isopropyl alcohol on my desk.  I had the rubbing alcohol because I was cleaning my PC fans (when you see your processor hit 70-75C you tend to quickly get in the mood to clean your fans and heatsinks) and I had the water on my desk because, well, I was thirsty.

To make a long story short and cut back on as many of the extraneous details as possible, I went to take a drink and almost drank the rubbing alcohol.

Hmm...maybe this have gone in the drug/alcohol thread? XD
