I want to go on a road trip after this semester is over. Maybe to Maine?

I would second all of that.

Also this is my friend in a pit during hatebreed http://www.sun-sentinel.com/entertainment/music/sfl-rockstar-mayhem-festival-20100811-pg,0,6477723.photogallery?index=sfl-mayhem-8-2010081120100811172441

Awesome. I saw the first Mayhemfest when it was in Toronto. Shit rocked. Mastadon, Dragonforce, Walls of Hericho, The Red Chord, and Disturbed were all part of the lineup.
This is going in my sig. :)

Dragonforce

So, in all honesty, how do they really sound live?

They are super terrible live. Like, when I saw them I just went because Sonata Arctica was opening for them (ugh, such a waste of an amazing band) and their sound setup was god awful. Everyone was maxed out on volume and no one could keep the beat and the drummer couldn't keep up at all. And all of the little kiddies had their Guitar Hero guitars and they'd raise them up to them every few seconds. It was disgusting. I couldn't even tell what songs they were playing. And then I walked out.

...alrighty then!

That seems to be the general consensus.  I just wanted to confirm that since I trust you guys a lot more than I trust Random Forum Troll A and his prepubescent band of merry men.

They sure as hell weren't like that when I heard them. I posted about it way back then as well. They sounded fucking amazing when I heard them.

Perhaps the quality of their performance is inversely proportional to their blood alcohol level.

This is the general consensus as far as I've heard. They can actually play okay... when they're not blackout drunk, which is most of their shows.

Everyone go see Scott Pilgrim vs. The World.

Movie rules, and I know everyone here will appreciate it.

Yeah, it is pretty much the anthem movie of the gamer generation.

My GF was planning on seeing it last night, but by the time we really got ready at my place, we'd be going to the late show (9:40) and have to drive 30-45 minutes to get there, and another 30-45 minutes back.

She's been excited about the movie since it was announced, because she started reading the comics right after they came out.

We ended up hanging out with friends instead, and reschedules to tonight, because we can go to a somewhat earlier showing, and it won't be opening night (so it won't be packed-as-shit and/or sold out.)

This is the general consensus as far as I've heard. They can actually play okay... when they're not blackout drunk, which is most of their shows.

That would explain things. I could see them as being the kind of guys who don't know how to handle being as famous as they are, and end up partying their face off when they probably shouldn't, and being unable to handle playing in those circumstances.

But yeah, when I saw them, they played fucking amazing. Mind you, they were still maxed out on volume (fucking hell they were loud) but I didn't even really mind, because they killed it. And the pit was crazier for them than for Mastadon (which I found unbelievable).

What am I, some sort of hipster?

That movie does look decent, despite all that jazz.
