I installed the 64-bit Flash plugin for Linux tonight and...it just worked.

It just worked.

I can't emphasize that enough.  Excellent work, Adobe!

I just realized Cowboy Bebop is pro gay marriage. Spike and Jet take care of Ed generally with just the two of them most of the time.

So I was driving down the street and my brakes decided to not work. Then I pushed the pedal again and they worked. I'm assuming I'm low on break fluid, but still, I'm happy that didn't happen when I was driving behind a semi that braked hard.

We really should have additional admins.

Whoo, birthday today. Finally I'm 21. Of course, I have an exam tomorrow, so looks like a bar crawl is out of the question tonight...

Code: [Select]
f(u,c,k,_,y,e,a,h)
{return u*u*u*u-u*u*u*_+u*u*y-u*e+a?k?f(u+1,c,k-1,_,y,e,a,h):0:putchar(u-c+h)==f(u+1,u,k-1,_,y,e,a,h);}
main(){return f(0,0,34,84,2423,26628,72864,98)<putchar(32)>f(0,0,40,125,5809,118995,906750,96)==~putchar(10);}

Happy birthday chap. Drinking legally is rather overrated, then again I hardly ever abuse this right unless I'm getting shitty gas station beer.

I'd like to dispute that last point, lol. If you've got some friends and a good pub/bar to hang out in, drinking legaly can be a lot of fun. My friends and I head over to Boston Pizza a lot, and drink there a bit (though we concentrate on food there) and there's a pub here that we head to when we have enough money for it, and it's always a good time when we drink there.

It's a nice alternative to drinking at someone's place (though we do that a lot more often)

Either way, happy birthday man.
This is going in my sig. :)

unless you have some spare cash, drinking at a bar is not always recommended.

Well yeah, bars do get expensive. But I mean, I'd easily take going to the pub, buying 4 pints and ordering some awesome bar food, and hanging out with friends there, over grabbing a 12 and playing COD with them like we do all the time... (and the bar is still more expensive than just grabbing the 12)

There is a certain novelty you pay the price for when you head outside your house to get alcohol, and I'm happy to pay higher prices for a more entertaining atmosphere. A large or small group of friends going out to a restaurant/bar and drinking, eating, laughing, etc is a great experience when you have funds to do so.  Certainly is a lot cheaper to get a 30 or a couple fifths and keep the party at home, although your options are kind of limited.

unless you smoke weed too, then home is better :P

Windows 8 is looking pretty orgasmic so far.

I particularly like the idea of this feature (from Wikipedia):

Quote
Another new feature is the ability to create a Portable Workspace, an installation of Windows 8 on a USB storage device.

There's also going to be a Windows App Store.  Done to death, sure, but it should prove to be a nice way for newbies to get newer software in a safer way.

Oh, there's also a new task manager, a built-in PDF reader (took long enough!), and native ISO mounting (thank goodness).

I'm really looking forward to the inevitable beta/RC release.  I'm going to grab that shit on day one.

Holy shit, that's awesome! I'm actually considering looking at trying out an RC/Beta. Normally I haven't bothered because of the issues that always crop up with those, but that sounds awesome. Any idea on how the new task manager will be? I've been using Process Explorer lately and it's a damn fine program for that sort of thing, but it sucks needing to install something extra on top of the default Task Manager.

It appears to be better organized, with a clear divide between the regular task manager and an "advanced task manager."  We're still not past the milestone stage, so who knows what's going to change?

Here's a link to a few screenies: http://forums.mydigitallife.info/threads/26269-Windows-8-new-Screenshots-Winfuture.  It definitely looks sleeker and more modern, and the Advanced Task Manager should scratch the itch of anyone who still wants the Win2K-style task manager.

I know I've been talking about this for a while, even tho that seems like it was years ago, but I'm finally having my dog put down. She's about 16 years old and cannot walk, so we're taking her to be euthanized.

That sucks.  Sorry to hear that. :(

We put our dog down a few years ago because she was dying.  It was really weird not having her around.
