I've had my car for so long that I'm very much attached to it, which definitely doesn't help. I've driven it since 2003. I had a few months break in 2008 when I started a certain shitty job, then a small 6-month break from it in 2009 (up until a certain uninsured minority forgot that people turning left don't have the right of way at green lights) but outside of that I've always driven that little gold car. It was 7 years old when I got it, 16 now. It had 54,000 miles on the odometer. Now it's up to 124,000. I've put the majority of the miles on the engine and have owned it for most of its life.
It's really going to feel weird parting with it, just like it did those other times. Even in the case that I was getting a genuine upgrade (like the ill-fated purchase of 2009) I felt weird not driving that car.
I still think it's a fun car to drive, despite its flaws (like the psychotic automatic transmissions that Saturn used. It's okay when it's been driving for a mile or two, but when you first start it, especially in cold weather...ugh).
