I decided to check out this LAN center near campus. Now I'm at a lock-in, playing L4D and a bunch of other FPSes. Damn glad I decided to check it out tonight.

Just got a new computer, my old one quite literally died. The sad part is that its a netbook that's twice the computer my old laptop was in terms of memory and storage, at half the price and size (actually I think it's smaller than half my old computer). Now once I get some more money I'll be able to get a actual monitor and actually be able to see the screen :P

I was browsing around Newegg because I'm planning on getting another hard drive and more RAM, and I saw that getting an extra 4GB of the same brand of RAM I already use would cost less than $50.

Nekros and I just watched the new Star Trek. I have to say that it was extremely well executed (Not that I'm very surprised... Bad Robot Productions kicks ass.)

I was a bit skeptical about the whole new cast and such, but it turned out really well.

No, I just meant I was skeptical about if they would be any good. I'm aware that they can't really make any new movies with the old cast any more.

Yeah.  I'll have to say I was skeptical about pretty much everybody in the new cast to some degree except Zachary Quinto, especially Karl Urban and Simon Pegg (don't get me wrong, I think he's a great actor).  Turns out everybody in the new cast did pretty well.  What was up with the spontaneous romance between Spock and Uhura, though?

I'd wondered about that, but then decided "you know what, let them have their freedom, it did add a certain element of tension to the relationship between spock and kirk".

It was a great way to give them a solid reason for them to be less than friendly with eachother, aside from the fact that kirk is pretty much everything spock isn't.
