I'm leaving tomorrow night to go to Tallahassee (it's going to be a LONG ass drive from Palm Beach) to see a mate of mine at FSU for his 21 birthday. Shit's gonna be one hell of a weekend.

Yeah, his last activity here was April 7th, lol.

But I've seen his occasional posts on Twitter, so I knew he was at least alive.
This is going in my sig. :)

so i bought tomba! and ape escape on amazon...used.

$60.00 for tomba! (fucking steal considering i remember it going past $150.00usd)
$10.00 for ape escape ($5 of that...was for shipping, too cheap not to get)

they arrived today...

both in EXCELLENT (lightly scuffed discs, but practically new) condition.  i mean i was whatever on ape escape since i didn't pay much for it, but tomba!, a rare ass game, i only expected it in a damaged case with no instructions and a barely workable disc....and i was wrong.  same happened with tomba! 2 last year, came in kickass condition, now i have both tomba games.

today is a good day.

and yes ps1 games give me more entertainment than most of the games this current generation.  and technically STHD is just sf2 with online, sf2 came out on the snes.  i wouldn't consider myself an oldschool gamer, but they made games better back then than they do now.  it can't be nostalgia talking when i am literally playing those games right now, in 2009.  but i guess nostalgia has something to do with it, the ps1/n64 was my "golden age" of gaming, old enough to understand things, got an allowance to buy vidya rather than being hollidays/birthdays only, vidya magazines were pretty big back then, and even dial up internet for the gaming forums.

tldr- look properly for a used game on amazon, you should be satisfied

*edit*

motherfucking tomba won't play on my ps2

LEAST I STILL GOT MY ps1, which it works perfectly on with my ps2 plugins/controller.

I was looking up some information about rooting my T-Mobile G1 when I found an entire section on T-Mobile's own forums that seem to be dedicated to Android OS development:

http://forums.t-mobile.com/tmbl/board?board.id=AndroidDev

I was amazed when I saw that.  That would kind of be like if there were a thread on Apple's forums titled "How to Jailbreak your iPhone" and they let it fly.  The fact that they allow their customers to openly discuss hacking their phones makes me that much happier with them as a carrier.

methinks T Mobile has realized that their customers are shelling out mega bucks for phones, that maybe they should let them do MORE than just 'use' it for calls/text/internet and such. COUGH SIDEKICK LX COUGH. I wish we could do more as sidekick owners, but they're pretty tight-cornholed about it. :/
I wish that cake was a lie. :(

It kind of depends on the phone itself as far as its capabilities.  The G1 is practically a computer.  It has an ARM processor, like a DS, iPhone, or iTouch, and is designed to run a Linux-based mobile operating system (Android).

The Sidekick is more of a pimped out standard cell phone so its options are a bit fewer.  You can generally take control of the phones if you have the right software (as I was able to do with my previous Motorola V3x) but since it uses a more obscure processor your options are extremely limited.  Most phones like that are designed to run a single, proprietary operating system.

So, really, it has more to do with the phone manufacturer (which, in the most of the Sidekick models' case, is Danger Incorporated) than the distributor.  Still good to know that T-Mobile, at the very least, doesn't absolutely forbid phone modding.

Just FYI, if you wanted to do more with your Sidekick, get it connected to your computer and look around.  The only things you need to completely tweak most handsets are a USB cable and some software.  If the phone is popular enough, odds are somebody found a way.

Also, the Western Digital MyBook storage systems run ARM processors.
