I performed a bit of an excessive storage upgrade on my computer. I bought a 180GB Intel SSD (6 Gbps SATA, because that's how I roll) and a 2TB HDD. Right now, I have three 750GB Samsung drives, a 750GB Hitachi, a 400GB Seagate, a 180GB Intel SSD, and a 2TB Western Digital, giving me a total of approximately 5.58TB total storage space. Naturally, some of that will be redundant, because holy fuck.
But anyway, I just reinstalled Windows 7 onto the SSD (naturally...) and am seeing boot times of 10 seconds. BRB, dry humping my computer.
The hilarious part is that it takes around 20 seconds for my computer to get through all of the BIOS and firmware screens. Can we just switch to UEFI so that we don't have to do that shit anymore? Thanks to my rig being PC-compatible it still takes as much time, from button to desktop, as my almost-decade-old OpenFirmware-based iMac G4.
