Wow, they are really re-balancing the game. I'm really pumped about this, even though I don't get to play retail, lol.
This is going in my sig. :)

Might want to try to play retail for a few months when it comes out.  The private server databases don't even have WotLK and 3.1 ironed out yet, it's going to be years before they come close to making Cataclysm playable.

Edit: vlad, I'm surprised you didn't mention this regarding hunters:

WOOOOOOOOOOO!  Thank goodness!  No more having to sell/trash all of my shit when I reach the next ammo tier, and NO NEED TO CARRY AROUND STUPID SHOT BAGS AND QUIVERS (which isn't really necessary now anyway because they made them virtually useless now, but still).

because it was announced a long time ago and im surprised it isn't in game yet.  nevertheless, it's a good announcement, just not a new one.

I've been playing this fucking game too much lately.

Finally started getting some purples on my DK: [Banner of Victory] [Ring of Ghoulish Glee] [Girdle of Arrogant Downfall]

* Shanoe needs more ToC runs.

Oh, I've also officially advanced to the officer ranks in my guild.  I'm awesome. :D

QFT.  However, when it does proc it's quite nice. :)

It's still an upgrade from my previous trinket, so awesome.  I do plan to replace it with something a bit more predictable when I can.

I think it goes without saying, but I'm working on a decent DPS set first.  I was originally going to get a kickass set of tanking gear, but I literally have yet to have a good piece of purple tanking gear drop for me.  Oh well, guess I'd better start perfecting my talent sets early (not to mention actually buying my dual spec, uh, "certification").

Isn't Warcraft lore just completely raped by WoW?

yes, but fuck lore if it makes the game more fun to more people.

I managed to get [The Horseman's Horrific Helm] last night.  It looks fucking ridiculous (as in, everyone in my party that saw it had a good laugh) but it's a decent upgrade from my old [Savage Saronite Skullshield] (in everything but the looks department, that is).  Thank goodness for the "display helm" option, I say.

I also dropped 1K gold for dual-spec and it's proven to be worth every copper.  In addition to my crappy frost spec (as in, I have some serious retooling to do before it's a practical tank class), I now have an undead DPS spec.  My single-target DPS has shot through the roof (comparatively speaking, of course...I still need better gear) and baddies have been falling down a lot faster for me.  Also, being able to fly at 350-360% speed on a 280% mount thanks to Improved Undead Presence KICKS ASS.  I can't wait until I manage to get a 310% mount and will be able to feasibly race wind riders.

yes, but fuck lore if it makes the game more fun to more people.

And keep in mind that lore is a constantly-changing beast when it comes to MMOs and Blizzard is at the reins.  They have more than enough writers to find a way to explain it (and there are some instances where they imply that a tauren paladin is at least feasible in the game right now).

Oh noes, the sacred lore! How dare they add stuff to the lore they created to progress the game!
