and to mention, the average canadian i hear sounds just about the same as the standard american.  but usually i can tell the subtle differances in the speach to tell if its a canadian.

Well, since I live around it, I really have to listen to hear the Canadian accent, but I can hear it. The one thing I just do not get is the whole "about/aboot" thing. When I say about, it sounds to me like I'm saying a.bow.t, with the bow part like the bow of a ship. It's not quite as long as if you were to say "bow", but it sounds the same.

"Aboot" is just an exaggeration, really.  The people who speak with a "Canadian accent" say "out" as "ote" (or "oat") rather than "owt" (so "about" winds up sounding like "a-boat").

It's awesome.  So easy to replicate. ;)

well i have an actual response to that, realised i didn't feel like uploading a 4mb .wav file.  tried to throw it in fl studio to convert to mp3, was too retarded to figure it out.  ended up making this song, took around 5 minutes.

also, to add, as i like adding things to the end of many of my posts.  i sound an awful lot like Bill Lumbergh from office space, and it isn't even intentional.  well either that or constipated, i tend to have an "odd" way of talking, as ultimate and whoever was in the ventrilo server with me way back when know.

speaking of that, the default sound recorder only records 60 seconds, what gives?
