I'd second that. Also fairly interesting video, definitely creepy tho.

Also is Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei recommendable?

Hell yes. It's absolutely fucked up, lol. But you really need to get one that also translates all the stuff on the blackboard, and signs and such. You'd be missing out on like, half the show. There are always tons of jokes and references to other shows and such on them.
This is going in my sig. :)

Oh the bump.

So I just watched Alien Nine. I really liked it. It's undoubtedly the weirdest anime I've ever seen. In only 4 episodes it manages to be every possible kind of weird. It starts out really cute, which is really why I put off watching it for so long, but it gets very disturbing very fast.

I just added Fist of the North Star and Gunbuster to my list.  It's not getting smaller :<

I've been watching through Noir, though.  That's a pretty good show, I don't know why I put it off for so long.

Anime you should think about watching:

The first two here are new anime just airing now. Gosick has two episodes out and Hourou Musuko has one right now.

Gosick - This is an interesting one. It takes place in a Victorian setting in some made up country in europe. The main character is a Japanese exchange student and has been nicknames the Black Reaper because of his black hair and dark eyes. One day he meets a girl in the botanical garden above the library who looks like a doll (ZOMG GOTH/VICTORIANLOLI!&!!). The show is based around the fact that she is insanely smart and generally solves mysteries very quickly and easily. Overall the show has great animation, and it's a nice take on a genre I'm usually a bit skeptical of (I generally dont like "mystery" shows that play up that things are so amazingly mysterious). The characters seem to have fairly well fleshed out ideals and histories. Definitely one I'd suggest following.

Hourou Musuko AKA Wandering Son - This show is not for everyone. Shuicihi Nitori is the main character, at first glance a shy and quiet boy, but there's a deeper reason for that. Shuichi is not happy being a boy, and he has a habit of wearing girls' clothes. He is also friends with his classmate Yoshino Takatsuki, a tomboyish girl who wants to wear a boy's uniform. This show examines the issues of gender identity in a very frank fashion; it doesn't play things up, there's no slapstick, or jokes at the show's expense. It's a serious take on trans-gendered children in middle school, and the problems they face. The animation is beautiful, and looks like it was entirely animated with watercolors. I've only see on episode, but I am definitely going to finish this one.

These are anime that have second seasons coming out now, which I haven't started yet because I just began watching the first one:

Mitsudomoe - How bad can elementary school children be? These 3 sisters will show you. This show is vulgar, violent, and sometimes downright deranged. It's Satoshi Yabe's first day teaching, and he's assigned class 6-3, home of the Marui Triplets, Futaba, Mitsuba, and Hitoha. They waste no time in torturing and harassing him, doing everything from smacking him in the face with a porn magazine, trying to hit him in the balls (under the pretense that if he is injured there the nurse, which he likes, would have to examine him there and that would somehow kick start their relationship).t's full of in jokes later on as well, seeing as the first episode of the second season is an episode of the show-within-a-show which makes fun of Zentai shows. It's twisted, hilarious, and sometimes just downright insane, and I definitely recommend it.

I'll add more later.
This is going in my sig. :)

My friend jeff likes it... He also likes shit like bleach. This makes me REALLY not want to watch it, not to mention everything aside from Row Row Fight The Powah I've heard about it sounds like I'd hate it :/ I dont want to hate it without having seen it, but everything I've seen and heard just points towards it being something I'd hate :S

Seconded. I haven't tried to watch it, but it looks like a rather shallow show.

Also after getting my friend into GitS, he's tried getting me into Bleach and Full metal Alchemist. Also he got all butthurt when someone said that most anime was shit, which I agreed with, then he went all mad and asked me what exact shows were shit, and I just said most

I just figured that I've been watching anime for years longer then him and basically got him into it that I should have a say about it over him, but I guess not.

I agree most anime is shit. It's really sad that there are only about 3 anime that look legitimately good this season that aren't just second seasons of something else.

Gosick, Fractale, and Wandering Son are the 3 I'm referring to here. Everything else either looks like crap (except madoka magika, but it's a magical girl anime, and unless it really turns the genre on it's head, the awesome animation won't save it)

shit

Dude, as a guy that thinks that most anime is shit, Gurren Lagann is amazing. Subs only, dubs ruin the anime SINGLEHANDEDLY. It seriously gets better as the series continues, and it's only 26 episodes long. Characters foil each other very well, and the creators did a great job making sure that you feel for each character. I'm only on the 9th episode and it's  simply great.

It's made by Gainax who created NGE. If you've seen NGE (and liked how perfectly the characters interacted with each other), I HIGHLY recommend watching Gurren Lagann.

Also, Bleach is a motherfucking terrible anime. I stopped the instant I saw a filler episode. Fuck that shit.
