You oughta try it. It's quite fun.
Well, I took music class in school (not all the way through). I played flute. Fun instrument, once you learn the fingerings (which are complicated as fuck when you first see them, then easy as shit to remember), and learn that if a note isn't sounding right, you can rotate the flute a bit to get it to play right.
I swear that the reason 95% can't get a proper sound out of it is because they don't know about rotating it. (actually, as you climb up the scale, IIRC, you slowly rotate it away from you, and down the scale you rotate it towards you).
What stopped me was that I had taken the grade 9 music class late (as in, there's a separate class for grade 10s taking it late, and I was in grade 11 when I took
that class). Well, I ended up dropping one of my classes that semester and joining the actual grade 9 class at the same time (so I essentially had 2 music classes covering the same thing... No need to practice at home
).
But I stopped after that.
